The Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs)

Recognising and rewarding companies and individuals across the security sector. The OSPAs are designed to be both independent and inclusive, providing an opportunity for outstanding performers, whether buyers or suppliers, to be recognised and their success to be celebrated.

The winners of the third annual Kenya Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs) have been announced. The competition was particularly strong this year and the judges had the difficult task of reviewing and scoring entries from the many outstanding nominations.

Submissions were judged by an independent panel, who have expertise from across the security sector, they all signed up to an ethics policy, declaring any conflict of interest on every mark sheet.

Founder of the OSPAs Professor Martin Gill said: “We are delighted to have worked with Securexpo East Africa to bring the OSPAs to Kenya again this year. Since the inception of the awards 3-years ago, we have seen some excellent submissions, clearly demonstrating outstanding performance in all areas of security. Our thanks go to all those that have supported the awards and congratulations to the 2022 winners.

The criteria for these awards are based on extensive research on key factors that contribute to and characterise outstanding performance. This research can be found here: Aspiring to Excellence,a Security Research Initiative report conducted by Perpetuity Research. The OSPAs are being set-up in collaboration with security associations and groups across many countries.

The presentation of the second annual Kenya Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs) took place on Thursday 24th March 2022 as part of an internationally attended online Thought Leadership Webinar – “Thinking about outstanding security in Kenya: what are the barriers to making further improvements?” organised in collaboration with Securexpo East Africa.

OSPA winners were selected by an esteemed panel of industry figures who judged entries using the same criteria which is applied to OSPAs around the world. Each winner demonstrated that they have performed at an exceptional level and has shown their commitment and outstanding performance within the security sector.
