Andrina Diedericks is an experienced Marketing Manager for Morpho South Africa a subsidiary of Safran Identity and Security. Safran develops innovative technologies for a wide range of markets and applications for people, governments and business. Andrina has over 15 years experience in marketing of industrial products. She has recently just completed a country wide product road show in South Africa educating the market on the latest technology and trends in Access Control.



Dylan Evans is the Managing Director for Salama Fikira in Kenya. In this role he has responsibility for all elements of the company’s commercial and operational activity. He is resident in Nairobi, Kenya.

Dylan has been with Salama Fikira since 2010 and has fulfilled a number of operational positions, allowing him to travel widely and operate in a number of challenging environments. Prior to Salama Fikira Dylan served nine years as a Royal Marines Commando. He completed four operational tours of Afghanistan. Initially in active combat roles and latterly was heavily involved in mentoring and training of

Afghan Special Forces in counter-terrorism and counter-narcotics tactics.

Having been in Kenya for several years, Dylan is now well-settled and integrated into Kenya society. He is at home in the bush and has extensive experience travelling across Africa both professionally and personally. He has developed a solid understanding of Kenya’s varied peoples and is competent in Kiswahili. Having worked in leadership positions throughout his career, Dylan is able to communicate with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.



I am the Founder & Executive Director of the Institute of Professional Security Studies (IPSS). I have undertaken major corporate security assignments, facilitated security conferences, forums and workshops. Currently, I am currently spearheading the SECURE KENYA 2030 project which was initiated, developed and documented by IPSS..

I have 20years of Military experience and an additional 19years in Corporate Security as a Regional security Advisor covering over 13 countries in the Region. I have hands-on experience in business security risk management, retail security, investigations, crisis management, BCP–Business continuity planning, loss prevention, Counter Terrorism, developing security process and procedures, operational excellence, and physical security. My background as an Army officer provides twenty years of Military experience with local and overseas military training and exposure. Major areas of experience include personnel management, administration, logistics planning, leadership, conflict resolution, disaster/ emergency response, strategic studies, international relations, security and military intelligence.

I served as a Battalion commander in the UN peacekeeping mission in former Yugoslavia, which provided major experience and exposure in conflict resolution, international relations, negotiation skills, interpersonal skills in a multicultural environment, and coordination of humanitarian assistance. Major appointments held, while in the military related to field operations, military intelligence, training and security, both at staff HQ level in Army, DOD and as a Battalion Commander- In 1994-1995.



Dr. Moses Ikiara is the Managing Director of the Kenya Investment Authority (KenInvest), a position he took on 11th February 2013. KenInvest is the state agency charged with responsibility of promoting both foreign and domestic investment in Kenya, facilitating investors, and policy advocacy with respect to investment in the country.

Previously, Dr. Ikiara was the Executive Director of the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) (December 2005 to May 2012), and Policy Analyst at the same Institute (July 2000 to December 2005). KIPPRA is an independent public think tank with the mandate of supporting public policy process in Kenya by conducting objective research and analysis, offering technical and advisory services, and by building human and institutional capacity in the area of public policy research and analysis. Prior to joining KIPPRA, Dr. Ikiara was a lecturer in the School of Environmental Studies (SES) of Moi University.

Dr. Ikiara holds a PhD in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics from the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. His previous academic qualifications include Bsc. (Agriculture, First Class Honours) and MA (Economics), both from the University of Nairobi.

Dr. Ikiara has substantial experience in public policy research, having published about 38 papers and book chapters in various journals and other outlets. His research experience and interest includes sustainable management of environmental and natural resources and the link between economics and ecological issues; tourism policy; trade issues, particularly with respect to services; fisheries; the trade-environment nexus; agricultural and industry policy issues, and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Dr. Ikiara has been involved in the development of key policy documents for Kenya. These include the Economic Recovery Strategy for Wealth and Employment Creation (ERS) 2003-2007 and the Kenya Vision 2030.

Daniel Lemmer joined Securex in December 2015 in and currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer. Daniel has 25 years experience in the Security field and has held various management positions related to Security all over Africa, the EU and the USA.

Before Securex Daniel was employed by General Electric in various roles. He was the Global Director for Granite Services in Tamp FL. USA and then Global Security Director for Oil and Gas in Florence, Italy. His career in GE spanned 9 years.

Previous experience includes doing duty in the Southern Africa regions as a military officer and advisor, working for the South African Department of Justice as a public prosecutor, working in Southern and West Africa on various diamond operations and managing the biggest diamond mines in the world in Botswana for Debswana and De Beers Diamonds. His career in De Beers Diamonds spanned 17 years.

Daniel has a BA degree in Security Management obtained from the University of Pretoria, a Diploma in Criminal Investigations and Forensic Auditing obtained at RAU in Johannesburg and a Security Management Diploma obtained from the University of South Africa (UNISA).

Delano has more than 23 years of experience in Director, Leadership and Management positions and maintains a wide network of valuable relationships across the African continent. He incorporates real-world experience and strategic thinking into modern practice built upon tried and tested business models. His experience spans across Security, Management, Sales and Technical fields. As an alumnus of Strathmore Business School he brings a wealth of knowledge into complex challenges that face many governments and businesses and recommends solutions to resolve the same. He is a Visionary implementer, Business and Cloud Architect. He has previously worked in Hitachi Data Systems where he assisted in developing road maps for National Security Platforms, National Healthcare Platforms and Clinical Repositories. He has also worked at IBM where he set up the Kenya Police Surveillance system and served in the Business Partner layer including as Business Manager, Data Center and Application Infrastructure at Seven Seas Technologies and Line of Business Manager, Data Center Services at Dimension Data, at Oracle as Director, Africa, Healthcare and Social Services advising nations such as Kenya, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Togo and Mauritius on National Security. Delano has been engaged in Security since 1993 and has been involved in dealing practically with many initiatives against terrorism. He assisted in the coordination of the Security and Emergency Medical assistance following the 1998 Bomb Blast at the US Embassy in Nairobi from 911 control center and supported enhancing National structures in Kenya following the 2013 Westgate Mall attack.

A charismatic leader he has an ability to inspire and provide insight to others while maintaining a high level of integrity.



Information Security Consultant at Serianu Limited, a Certified Ethical Hacker, Information Security Auditor and Associate Mediator with the Chartered Institute of Arbitration specializing in ICT and Security Related matters with over 5 years’ experience in providing continuous independent assurance specializing in Information Enablement for Financial Services, Government and Manufacturing Sectors.

He is a manager at Serianu Limited, a Kenyan based IT services and business consulting firm that aims to provide enhanced visibility and insight to organizations that would then enable these organizations to extract value from their information assets. Kevin has been part of the research team that develops the annual Kenya Cyber Security Report and is currently working with the Serianu team to develop the 2016 edition of the same.



He is an international security consultant based in Nairobi - Kenya. He holds a master’s degree in military science and a diploma in homeland security and intelligence management! He is a former Kenya Air

Force officer. He is a five-star security analyst for many media houses in Kenya and internationally! He is the CEO of Eye On Security (K) Ltd, a private security firm in Kenya!

Dennis Nthumbi is the Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Three Sixteen Protection and care limited. He brings to the team deep knowledge and vast experience in the industry having worked in senior positions for G4S Kenya.

He has a wealth of over 16 years experience from industry sectors such as real estate and property, FMCG - Retail, Marketing, Security, Entertainment, Filming & Production, Advertising, Concert and Sporting events. In his prior positions Dennis provided strategic input in the development, innovation and delivery of high quality, impactful remedial solutions to top recognizable clientele that include international companies and VIP’s in the East Africa region.

Dennis also provided industry standardization, analysis and consultancy. He has vast experience leadership, management and exceptional track record in providing services such as secure journey management, close protection, events security, operational strategy, innovation, risk assessment, analysis, product development and strategic brand managment.



Prof. Amb. Nzomo is Professor of International Relations & Governance. She holds a PHD in Political Science and International Studies from Dalhousie University, Canada; MA in Political Science, McMaster University, Canada and a BA (Hons.) in Political Science, UON. She is the Director of the Institute of Diplomacy & International Studies of the University of Nairobi and also the University of Nairobi’s Academic Program Director at the Kenya National Defence College and the Kenya’s Defence Staff College.

Prof. Nzomo was Senior Fulbright Scholar (1994-1995). She has published widely in the areas of international studies, governance, gender, human rights and civil societies in Africa.

During 2003-2009, Prof. Nzomo was Kenya’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations & the World Trade Organization in Geneva. She also served as Kenya’s Ambassador to Zimbabwe and High Commissioner to Mozambique, Lesotho and Swaziland. Prior to that (1998-2001), she served as Regional Head of an Africa wide UNDP program.

Nzomo has also served in and continues to serve in numerous professional associations and Boards, both Kenya & internationally.



Mairura omwenga is the Chairman of Town and County Planners Association of Kenya(TCPAK). TCPAK is a professional association of town planners in Kenya. He is a member of the International Society of City and Regional Planners(ISOCARP, The Hague/Netherlands) and also the Royal Town Planning Institute(RTPI, UK). Mr Omwenga is a lecturer at the University of Nairobi, College of Architecture and Engineering, and runs a consultant firm. He is a holder of BSc(civil engineering), MA(Planning),and a PHD researcher.

He is Currently Executive Director Global Forensic Services Limited; Governor of Kenya Private Sector Alliance KEPSA and Chair of Security Sector Board (KEPSA); a Board Member of Kenya School of Adventure and leadership (KESAL), and Director Kenya Private Safety and Security Federation.
